Throughout our years of service, there has never been a request we could not accommodate. Let us show you our new concept in funeral service, where the most important part of the service is YOU.

The year was 1935 when Tom Gibbons' father opened the first Gibbons Funeral Home on the west side of Chicago. Today there are three Gibbons Funeral Homes, all family owned and operated. The Gibbons Funeral Home in Elmhurst location was founded in 1960, with major renovation and improvements in convenience and comfort since then. The Gibbons Family Funeral Home on the northwest side of Chicago was established in 1973.

Gibbons Family

In 1990, the building was renovated and a parking lot added when the building next store became available. Tom Gibbons envisioned a funeral home he could build from the ground up in a location he personally selected for to be within proximity of churches and communities that did not have a funeral home their neighborhood could call their own, so in 1987 Tom built The Oaks Funeral Home in Itasca which Gibbons family owns and operates.
