Jeanne Warp

Jeanne Warp, nee Nolan, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2024, at the age of 74 in Grand Rapids, MI. Born on July 8, 1949, in Chicago, IL, but raised in the suburbs of Hillside and Bellwood, Jeanne’s life was a testament to her adventurous spirit and her immense love for her family and community.

Jeanne grew up in the bustling city of Chicago, where she attended St. Domitilla Catholic School and later graduated from Proviso West High School. Her passion for learning and helping others led her to Elmhurst College, where she furthered her education and prepared for a life of service.

Her professional journey was marked by a profound dedication to caring for others, as she took on a pivotal role at a female mental hospital. Jeanne’s compassion and empathy made a lasting impact on the lives of many, and her work was a true reflection of her loving nature.

Outside of her career, Jeanne was deeply involved in her community, volunteering with schools, churches, and homeless shelters. She also dedicated time to the brain injury association, where her efforts helped improve the lives of those affected by such challenges.

An avid reader, Jeanne’s thirst for knowledge was insatiable. She had a particular fascination with history, especially Ancient Rome, which often inspired her travels and adventures. Her love for the Beatles was legendary, and she could often be found humming their tunes or sharing trivia about the band with her grandchildren.

Jeanne’s home was always filled with warmth and laughter, as she was an exuberant host who loved to entertain friends and family. Her table was never too small to accommodate another guest, and her generosity knew no bounds.

Her family was the center of her universe. She is survived by her loving son Chris and daughter-in-law Melissa Warp, her daughter Becky and son-in-law Jan van der Woerd, and her cherished grandchildren Emily, Bjorn, Grace, Aliza, Jensen, Jan, and Willem. Jeanne also leaves behind her brother Donald and sister-in-law Nancy Nolan, as well as her adored nieces and nephews Katelyn, Daniel, Ryan, and Meghan. She was predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Suzanne Nolan.
