Diane L. Hennessy, nee Parrillo, age 79, of Elmhurst and a former resident of Oak Brook, passed away on April 4, 2024. She was born on April 3, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Oak Park and River Forest, Illinois. Diane will be remembered as an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
Diane lived life to the fullest whether she was enjoying playing golf, cards with her friends or drinking a Cosmopolitan. Her laugh was contagious. Diane’s greatest love and joy was her family; her motto was “If you don’t have family, you don’t have anything.” She will be terribly missed by all she touched. Diane is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years Michael J.; her children Kelly O’Donnell, Shannon (Brad) Ross, Diana (Dave) Heyer and Terrance O’Donnell. She was a stepmother to Ryon (Mary Uckerman) Hennessy, MD, Carrie (Frank) Pedote and Shannon (Michael) Ebner. Cherished grandmother of Joe (Maria) Ross, Kate (Chris) Goodyear, David (Caroline Willinger), Charlie, Sam and Allie Heyer, Jack, Callie, Alex and JJ Hennessy, Eddie, Noelle and Tommy Pedote and Julia, Drew and Jordan Ebner; devoted great-grandmother of William Goodyear. Dear sister of Richard (Michaela) and Robert (Elizabeth) Parrillo. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Josephine Parrillo and her brothers William (the late Carol) and Donald Parrillo.
Visitation Sunday, April 14, 2024, 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road. Friends and family will meet for a Mass of Christian Burial Monday, April 15, 2024, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Visitation Catholic Church, 779 South York Road, (at Madison), Elmhurst.
