John Francis “Jack” Moran passed away March 8, 2021. He was born in Chicago, IL, on January 25,1927 to Florence McDonnell and Michael Moran. The oldest of three children, Jack proved to be a hard working self starter enjoying a 46 year career with AT&T. He served his country with honor in the US Navy during World War II. He wed Antoinette “Toni” Spatola to whom he was happily married for 52 years until Toni’s death in 2001. Settling in Elmhurst, IL in 1965, Jack and Toni raised their six children. Jack was a devoted and engaged father who enthusiastically supported his children’s every interest. Jack was a lifelong optimist who saw the best in others, was playful and funny and loaded with lovable quirks. Anyone lucky enough to serve Jack at a restaurant or stand next to him on an elevator would be very likely to remember the experience with a smile. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. Jack was the loving father of Paula Moran, Kathleen (Larry) Sorensen, Ruth Ellen (Timothy) Hill, Robert (Cheryl) Moran, Thomas (Kelly) Moran and Lynn (Robert) Sanzone; cherished grandfather of Tara, Rachel and Jack Hill, Kevin (Molly), Amanda and Stephanie Moran, Sean and Ryan Moran and Isabelle and Nicholas Sanzone; dear brother of LaVerne (the late Charles) Burke and Jackie Kammholz. Services and Interment are by invitation only at this time due to COVID. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lexington Hospice, Attn: P. Tomaszek, 665 W. North Avenue, Ste 201-CD, Lombard IL 60148 or Rotary Club of Chicago O’Hare, PO Box 2117, Schiller Park, IL 60176. Condolences to the Moran Family. Jack will be missed by all who knew him. Jack always had a smile and a joke to tell anyone he met. His skills at golf and cards were the best. He loved his family above all else. I will miss him forever. Joan Claussen

Our condolences to the entire Moran Family. I got to believe that my Dad, and Jack, are probably looking down on us right now, talking about something to do with the telephone company from years past. That’s just who they were. He always had a smile on his face when we met, and I know that he held all of his family in high regard. He will be missed! Joan & Bill Lubben

John always had a smile and was so positive as he went about life. His family was prominent- friends followed close behind. For years Larry, myself and John drove out south to have lunch with Bill and Rita Lubben (RIP) because friendship was so important to him, especially with his Illinois Bell long time friends. Larry and I were blessed to have both worked for John in his Division and to remain friends for a lifetime- that’s the kind of guy he was. Our warmest sympathy and love goes to his awesome family. We will miss him terribly. He will be in our hearts forever. Marcia and Larry DELLEFIELD

I pray for comfort and peace for Val Kwilin, my friend, and her entire family over the great loss of her beloved Uncle Jack. Losing someone so dear is such a huge loss and no one can take their place. But the love, joy and happy memories live on and the impact that person had on your life. Please celebrate the wonderful life of your Uncle Jack today and remember he will live on in your heart forever. God bless you all.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Moran family at the loss of a terrific man. I was blessed to have known such a kind man. He was most happy talking about his children and grandkids; you could see his eyes sparkle when he did. He will be truly missed. Celebrate his life and all the joy he brought you and you him, knowing his Irish eyes are smiling down upon you.

Jack was a long-time owner and member of the Board of the Interlaken Condominium Association in Lake Geneva for more than 20 years. Those of us who worked with him on the Board always appreciated his hard work, good humor, and passion for Interlaken. We will miss him.
