Charles A. “Chuck” Goding, age 84, longtime resident of Elmhurst, currently of Lombard, Longtime Director of Corporate Communications for Nalco Chemical Company, former President of the Oak Brook Association of Commerce and Industry; founding director of Training, Inc., a training program for welfare recipients; former Adjunct Professor, Lewis University; former member of Elmhurst Zoning and Planning Commission, former Director Elmhurst District 205 Foundation, Mayoral appointee to the Historic Preservation Commission in Elmhurst; past President of Chicago Chapter of the Business Professional Advertising Association; beloved husband of Connie for over 61 years; loving father of Chuck Jr. (Julie) and Craig (Heather) Goding and Cindi (Dennis) Lockhart; proud grandfather of Berit Goding, Caleb (Therese) and Noel Goding and Alec Lockhart. Visitation Thursday, December 27, 2018, 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a funeral service to be held at 4:00 p.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road (½ mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst.     A bright light of human decency and character has gone out with the loss of this good man, our friend for nearly 65 years.

    I volunteered with Chuck for many years with the Oro Valley Police Department while living in Arizona. My wife and I moved back to the Chicago area in 2013. I have held Chuck and Connie in high regard while knowing them. We will miss Chuck’s pleasant personality.
