David M. Goodman, PhD, of Elmhurst; beloved husband of 51 years to Maureen C. (née Nolan); loving father of Catherine, Michael (Jodine), and Elizabeth (Matthew Andersen) Goodman; proud grandfather of Charlotte; dear cousin of the O’Brien and Goodman families. A native South Side Chicagoan, David attended St. Rita’s Grade School, St. Ignatius High School, Georgetown University, Loyola University, and earned his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern University. David devoted 42 years to his career as a clinical psychologist in St. Charles, Illinois. Known for his kind, gentle, and supportive approach, he touched countless lives. His guiding principles were, “If you don’t know what to do, you don’t have enough information,” and “The best test of anything is—does it work?” His faith in God shaped the way he lived—with kindness, compassion, and love. He cherished his family, and they will forever hold him in their hearts as a beloved, respected, and profoundly missed husband, father, and grandfather.
