Cecelia I. “Cissie” Reynolds

Cecelia I. “Cissie” Reynolds (née Casey), Age 72, of Villa Park, passed away suddenly, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Beloved wife of James Reynolds, Cissie was a devoted mother to Mary (Jonathan) Reynolds Kane and Kate Reynolds Gilmartin, and the late Bridget Reynolds. She was the cherished “Grammie” of Nate and Owen Kane and Bridget, Declan and Eileen Gilmartin, each of whom brought her immense joy. Cissie was the loving sister of Kathleen “Kitty” (Rob) Rhoades, and dear sister-in-law of Ellen Reynolds, Maureen (Jeff) Waid, Marty (Robin) Reynolds, Gary (Michelle) Reynolds, Kathy (the late Chris) Panko, and the late Tom Reynolds. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirlee (née Baggot) and Jack Casey, and was a treasured aunt and cousin to many. Cissie and Jim were high school sweethearts, devoted to each other, recently celebrating the 56th anniversary of their first date. They were married for 51 years. Cissie’s greatest joy was her family. She adored her Baggot and Casey cousins, her nieces and nephews, and her children and grandchildren, who will always remember her warmth and laughter. She found great joy in being a grandmother, delighting in games, shared interests, and quiet moments spent together. She loved reading, gardening, and spending summer days at the family’s home in Michigan—where four generations made memories together. A longtime and respected nurse at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital and the Elmhurst Clinic, Cissie’s quiet dedication and kindness touched the lives of countless patients. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured and the many lives she touched.
