I only met Mrs. Baer on a few occasions, but her wisdom, love for Christ, her husband and children and their families is what impressed me most. She remembered where I was in life whenever I saw her and was interested to ask about my family. I have, also, been the receipient of some of her delicious recipes (ie Peach Kuchen), through my sister, Janie Baer. The wonderful stories, I would hear, of Silver Lake and the get togethers there just amazed me. That was so much work with such a big family, I am sure, but she and Mr. Baer, made it work. Their family was that important to them, as well as passing on their spiritual legacy. But most importantly, I remember her smile…her whole face lit up. Such a nice lady. Last, but not least, she raised a wonderful husband (Randy) for my sister Janie and he has been a wonderful brother-in-law to me. She did well.
