The nicest man I know ! Rest up Tom miss you already.

Mr. Kinsella was no frills. He was all about showing up for whatever work was needed and supporting his family. I was lucky enough to grow up down the street and witness his kindness, and also can look back and appreciate him letting us know when we were out of line. I felt like he played a role in raising the entire neighborhood. He was a giant of a man, in today’s world and any other. He left his mark, no question about that. 100%.

Tom was pure as they come. He was really the first adult I met all on my own, outside of my parents’ supervision. When I was 4, Blahas were babysitting me, and Tom was painting their interior. Tom’s kindness emanated into the space around him like an ora: so it was no coincidence that I sought him out to be my friend. He really had Mr. Rogers-level kindness and goodness.
When kindergarten rolled around, and everybody found a “best friend,” I vividly remember telling my classmates that “I already have a best friend…his name is Tom Kinsella!” 🙂
He was a living testament of the power of kindness. May he rest in peace.

I was very saddened to hear about Tom’s passing. For many years I played golf every Sunday morning in a foursome with him. You get to know a lot about a man when you play golf… he was a good sport, kind, unassuming, patient, honest, always encouraging. None of us were very good at the game, but loved each other’s company. I’ll never forget the day he shot a hole-in-one! I don’t know who was happier, Tom or the rest of us! He was a brave man these last few years. Jane and I will miss him. Our hearts go out to Nancy and his family.

I was a classmate of Tom’s at Our Lady of the Angels grade school. I remember him as always being such a nice person. I saw him again at a reunion, possibly our 50th, when he stopped by to say hello to former classmates before leaving for a wedding reception. Rest In Peace Tom. My deepest sympathy to his family.
