Christina Rose Smith was born April 26, 1965 and taken into God’s loving arms on August 7, 2021. Chrissy lived her life surrounded by family and friends. A “middle child” (as she reminded everyone), she brought friends into the fold who became family. Chrissy united and connected ALL as she raced through her life to make it to somebody’s next important moment or event. She connected easily with everyone and even adopted the friends of her family members. She knew what was important to each person because they became part of her
story too.
Chrissy was the epitome of living life to the fullest. From riding her bike, playing tennis or golf, swimming, or paddle boarding to spontaneously visiting her friends and family, she was always on the go. She traveled and continued to collect more friends along the way. She was passionate about good food, good wine, and good music. She loved the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Blackhawks, Indiana Hoosiers, and Rafael Nadal (to name a few). Her zest for life was unmatched.
As a professional, she did not accept mediocrity in serving her clients. She was an excellent physical therapist professionally and personally to family members, friends and strangers that became her community. She was recently honored for 15 years of service with Athletico and here are some things said about her from her professional world: “ Christina was universally well-liked and respected for her clinical capabilities, commitment to her patients, and for her friendship. She loved to laugh. She offered her time and talent wherever and whenever possible, having seen patients at 58 different Athletico clinics in the first half of 2021 alone. Christina never turned down an opportunity to help out another in need, and we can all grow from her examples of compassion for others, vigor for life, and being a dependable friend and colleague.”
Chrissy was a daughter, sister, super aunt, cousin, friend, neighbor, athlete, mentor, and community supporter. She juggled those roles with love in her heart and unending energy and dedication. Thank you, Chrissy, for your example of love and giving of self to others. Rest in peace.

My heart is broken. I can still see Chris’ smiling face and booming voice whether it was across the rows at Mariano’s or on the other side of the tennis net when one of her lightening serves came at me way too fast. Godspeed sweet Chris. St Peter has his arms wide open for you.

To all those that loved Chrissy, She was such a lovely lady. Always went out of her way to see and talk to Barb. Helen Keller once said “What was once enjoyed and deeply loved, we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us.” Chrissy sure was a part of so many. She loved you all.

Chris was always a warm and inviting energy. My mother knew Chris , and she was in my life from a very young age . Every time she was kind , loving , and full of life. Its sad to see someone with such a positive attitude gone too soon. I am so grateful to have had her apart of my childhood, and hope she is resting easy .

The Smith family has been a part of our family since 1977. What a treasure! We are so very sorry for your loss. Our loss is Heaven’s gain. But we all really know she is not “lost”. She is having a grand old time in Heaven meeting and greeting and laughing that beautiful laugh. “Life is Eternal. Love is Immortal. Death is but a Horizon. And the horizon is just the limit of our sight.” Can’t recall who said that but it is so fitting. Our prayers are with you all. With great affection, the Condon-Duffy Family, Sharon, Kristin, Marc and John

Chris was a one of a kind woman that I will remember for the rest of my life. I first met Chris when I was 23 at my first hair salon. I had no experience but Chris gave me a chance. I would get so nervous and we laugh because I would shake from my nerves. Every couple of months Chris would be back in my chair and my haircuts improved. She followed me for 14 years and she was the first person in when I decided to go out on my own. We had such great talks about our families and life. She was not only my client but my friend. She always had a lunch that she made at her house, her left over from a restaurant a coffee or a tea. She always seemed to know if i didn’t bring a lunch. I will never forget when she cheated on me because I couldn’t get her in at salon and she got the worst haircut. We would laugh about it all the time. The last time I talked to Chris was a month ago and I feel God let me have my final goodbye with her. We talked for so long and caught up for I hadn’t seen her for a few months from being on my maternity leave. Chris you will forever be in my heart. I’ll miss you my friend❤ Love, Dee
