Ralph always made me feel like family from minute one, I loved him for that. We talked about so much stupid stuff and we always got in trouble when Donna and Sharon let us loose in public and more so in Vegas usually the next morning was followed by apologizes to our wives.
Nothing will ever beat the time Ralph rented a pontoon boat in Lake Havasu. Ralph was “the better” driver of me and him. When we docked the pontoon he had a brain fart and floored it right into the dock. At the time it wasn’t so funny but I followed in Ralph’s crazy humor and would ask him the dumbest questions later like-doesnt your wife check your eye glass prescription? Or if he was aiming for the kid on the dock because he owed him money? Ralph was literally the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back but then would follow up how cold he was with no shirt, jokingly. I will miss you my brother-in-law you made me and our whole family better, I kept the tears away long enough to write this and I’m proud of that part.. I love you Ralph. Its never easy to say good bye so I won’t, I’ll will leave it at, “Till I see you again.”

Sharon my heart breaks for you and your family. Ralph was one of a kind. The Ralph I have known since 1989 was always happy and had a smile on his face. He loved to make you laugh by telling you a joke or playing a practical joke on you. He was one of the most generous people I’ve ever met. I’m so glad Dan and I got to see you guys last summer and go on the boat with you! Hanging out with Ralph was always a great time. Ralph will be missed immensely, I’m going to miss his smile and his occasional phone call to catch up on things. Rest In Peace my friend.

I didn’t know Ralph all that well, but I know how happy he made my cousin Sharon. I was so happy for the both of them, their constant smiles showed how much they were in love with each other. Sharon, my sincerest condolences to you and your entire family. I’ve been in your position twice in my life loosing two spouses suddenly. There’s no words to express how you must be feeling right now. I just want you to know I’m here any time you need to talk or want to get away our door is always open for you. We won’t be able to make the funeral as it is tomorrow and we wouldn’t have time to make it there. Just know you will be in our thoughts and prayers. Love you and may Ralph RIP…

I was a former employee of Ralph… I got to know him pretty well we had alot in common… I really enjoyed working with his company… we didn’t always see eye to eye but I respected the man he was… We did not part on very good terms and I always thought we would we overcome our differences so I’m deeply saddened that I will not be able to make peace with ralph… He was the hardest working man I knew and I’ll never forget the man he was… RIP RALPH.. ILL see you when I get there.. my heart goes out to his loved ones.. when he spoke of them he had smile on his face and gleam in his eye, especially when he talked of his grandkids… I admired ralph for his constant drive and energy.. I know that all he did was for others which makes him a rare human being.. I can only hope his legacy will live through the company he built from the ground up.. my deepest condolences to his wife she was always such a warm and generous person whenever I had the pleasure of seeing her at the office.. I’m sorry Sharon I know ralph loves you with all his heart

When our mom married Ralph’s oldest half-sibling in 1968 we got out of Mooseheart and went to live with Opal and her then husband Lou Turner and all the kids including “Ralphy” in one house in Elmhurst until our new step-dad returned from Vietnam. There were five of us and five of them, 10 kids in one house for almost 3 months and we had a blast while stress testing Opal and Lou’s patience no doubt. Because Ralph and his siblings were the same ages as us five Fortier kids they were more like brothers and sisters than aunts and uncles, Mary and Donna were just infants at the time. I have lots of memories of Ralph from back in those days and the following years growing up in Wheaton we continued to stay close to the entire family. I watched Ralph on the internet give the eulogy at Opal’s service and was not surprised to see he had not changed too much, still able to find the good in almost every downturn life can throw at you and still maintaining his sense of humor even when in grief and sorrow. I am so glad I sat next to Ralph at my mom’s 80th b-day in 2019 so we had the chance to catch up after so many years being away from Illinois. I am still shocked that he is gone so suddenly and so young with many good years that still were to come for him. My heart goes out to all of his family members and especially Sharon who I did get the chance to meet when we visited them in Palatine about 8 years ago. RIP Ralph you are already missed tremendously no doubt.

Ralph was one of the best bosses I have ever had he treated me like family. He really taught me alot about the window cleaning business and always took the time to help me out. He had a great sense of humor and always knew what to say when things got stressed. I will miss him very much and I pray for him and his family.

I am shocked and saddened by the death of my friend he was the life of the party and a very generous man made us feel welcome. Because of Ralph and Sharon I met my husband Doug McCarrell. We had a lot of great memories of the four of us at Mack’s Golden Pheasant. My husband and I wish we could be there to comfort our dear friend Sharon we love you and you are in our thoughts.

Ralph is and was the most amazing person I know. The ENERGY, the fun, the life of the party. Always a laughable moment with Ralph. Parrots Cove will never be the same with you gone. You made life fun! And the Cove fun! And well groomed. Brett and I are going to miss you greatly. Sharon, we are always here for you no matter what. We are very sorry for your loss and I hope to cherish old memories and keep the alive. We are here for you! It has been a blessing knowing Ralph!
