John J. Ryan, age 92, native of Co. Tipperary, Ireland, resident of Elmhurst; former employee of Jewel Food Stores for over 32 years; member Harry Boland Hurling Club and Chicago Gaelic Park; beloved husband of Anne “Nancy” , nee Power; loving father of Martina (Timm) Linders, Dermot (Cheryl) and John (Arpe) Ryan; proud grandad of Kari and Bridget Linders, Neve, Elizabeth and Aidan Ryan and Zaven Ryan; dear brother of Tommy Ryan, Mary Gillespie and the late Paul, Michael and Sr. Angela Ryan and Peggy Kirby; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Thursday, 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (½ mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst. Friends and family will meet for a Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, 10:00 a.m. at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 145 East Grand Avenue, Bensenville. Interment Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Hillside. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
