Alan J. Montella, age 68, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior; resident of Elmhurst, formerly of Shelburn, IN and Lynwood, IL; Native of Chicago Heights, IL; 4th degree Knight of Columbus, member of The Brute Society, Evansville, IN; member of many professional associations centered around a professional career in Healthcare with 23 years as CFO of Sullivan County Community Hospital; beloved husband of Judy, nee Jarecki; loving father of Robert (Suzanne) and the late Amy Lynn (Matthew) Guca; proud grandfather to Papa’s boys Jacob and Nicholas Guca and Evan and Nolan Montella; dear brother of Raymond (Deanne) Montella. Visitation Thursday, 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. until time of funeral 9:00 a.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (½ mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst. Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, 1140 W.     I work with Alan for 16 yrs at SCCH, and he was always the boss… but I also knew he was a good friend… Thank you for sharing him with us for so long. Alan now has all the gold his heart could ever need… Rest in peace my friend…. May the lord give you and your family peace during this time of sadness…but also to help you celebrate his going home…

    Judy and family, I’m so sorry to hear of Alan’s passing, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. I worked with Alan for many years at SCCH and he was always a pleasure to work for. I have so many fond memories of him I actually still have a “”Montella Bucks” on my bulletin board. I know you will all miss him terribly. May the Lord comfort you and give you peace at this time of loss.
