James P. Dolan, 83, native of Chicago, resident of Mt. Prospect for 48 years, passed into eternal life peacefully at home after a long illness; beloved husband of Barbara, nee McGrath; loving father of James (Sherri) Dolan, Mary Eileen Dolan (Gary Townsend), Maureen (John) McNair, Thomas Dolan, Michael (Toni) Dolan, John (Cindy) Dolan, Kathleen (Ken) Dix, Matthew (Karin) Dolan, Barbara (Jack) McKenna, and Margaret (Jim) Capannari; proud grandfather of 29 and great-grandfather of Sweet Baby James Dolan;  devoted brother of Kathleen (George) Cady, Peter (Nancy) Dolan and the late Margaret (the late Kevin) O’Connor and dear brother-in-law of Mary Ellen (the late Jack) Nettleton; cherished son of the late Peter and the late Margaret, nee McKiernan; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Monday, 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (½ mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst. Visitation Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 a.m. at St. Raymond de Penafort Catholic Church, Elmhurst and Lincoln Avenues, Mt. Prospect.     I’ll never forget your dad asking me to the Father-Daughter Dance at Sacred Heart High School with Katie! That one action showed the character of your dad and the fact that Katie (and Tom) was just as excited that I was going spoke volumes of how it was to grow up in a home where caring about all was as natural as caring about your own. He made a difference and I am thankful! God Bless all the Dolans!
