It was my privilege to have worked with Dr.Pozen during my twenty two years at Elmhurst Hospital. He was respectful of all his patients and at a time when doctor’s often were verbally abusive to nurses,he was the exception. He valued our opinions and encouraged our thoughts concerning those in his care. His practice of medicine was not only a professional one but, in my eyes, a vocation as well. I was fortunate to have him care for my mother and also other family members. He will be in my prayers and I hope this new generation of health care workers will take the time to honor the fact that he while he practiced the science of medicine he mastered the art.
With Sympathy,
Noreen Transier, RN retired.

Thousands know what a good doctor Tom was. Fewer of us were privileged to learn what a great neighbor he was as well.

I was privileged to work with Dr. Pozen at Dupage Community Clinic. Everyone loved Dr. Pozen. He was a good old fashioned county Dr. giving special attention to all of his patients. He was always smiling and cheerful, easy to work with yet very particular about patient care. He was a nurse advocate and worked very hard. He put in many long hours at the clinic though it was volunteer. He went above and beyond what was asked of him. We were all very saddened when we heard of the ALS and sadder still of the loss. He will always be remembered as a kind and gentle physician. I am honored to have known him .
