There is not much or anything I can say to make the Pain his family is going through. I know his Daughters & Wife, His Father In-Law and Sister In-Law very well so if any of them need anything I can do for them just ask. My Love is with you all at this as one of the most difficult times. May God Heal your pain. Love Keith Sunde

To Gary’s O’Hana: He was a wonderful man and co-worker… his eyes would light up each time I told him I had gone back to Hawai’i. My prayers are with you… he’ll be truly missed here at United. Mahalo for sharing him with us. A hui hou… Aloha.

To Gary’s family, I worked with Gary at United Airlines for twenty years. He was my first lead and the first thing he said to me was to put my ear muffs on to work a trip. He always worried about us working on his gate. That is why everybody wanted to work with him. We had a personal joke between the two of us. We would see who would be the first to walk up to each other and put our thumb on our nose and wave our fingers at each other and says, Gotcha. Nobody knew what we were doing, it was a great way to start the day with laughter. I’m going to miss that and seeing Gary’s smile and hearing his voice.
Love, Todd and Juliet Ryder

I was so sad to hear about Gary. He was the nicest person I ever had the pleasure of working with. His smile and laughter brightened up any room. He always liked my perfume too! Heaven just gained an angel. Miss you my friend, hang loose!

To Gary my Friend, my Brother, Always a smile, always calm, he did his best to make everyone laugh. He was good friends with my Late Brother-in law Woody Kinney, I’ll always remember Gary and Woody Playing guitar and singing, especially the Hawaiian Wedding Song.
I had him talked into coming to Kansas City last June , to sing it at MY Niece’s, Woody’s Daughter’s wedding. She is also named Maile. Unfortunately he was not strong enough to make the trip. He also had a parody song he made up about Working at United. It was a Hoot.
Gary you will never be forgotten. Mahalo Bro.

To the family of my friend Gary Edulan. For me Gary was one of those guys that you come across in life that just stood out from most. Overtime when we met we had a joke or a laugh about various subjects, every time we met. On our way home at the end of our shift, I would always invite him to have a drink with me. For it was happy hour at Stake and Shake at this particular time of day. ” Its on me Gary” I would say, his response would be no “I would love to Willie, but I have to get home because of activities with one of my daughters”. I would say okay some other time and we would smile go on our way. I will miss the laughter and the fun we had. To you the family , may God bless you in these hours of bereavement .

I’m so sorry for your loss. I have worked and known Gary for a long time and can honestly say it was a pleasure knowing and working with him. He was always pleasant to be around even when I know things were tough for him. I’m glad I was able to have had him as a friend not just a coworker.
Bruce Rose
I didn’t work with Gary very long or very often… our interactions were limited to the half-hour overlap when his shift ended and mine began. Even with that short time, he impressed me with his positive outlook and professionalism as well as his genuine interest in everyone he met and the way he watched out for his crew. He was a joy to work beside and an inspiration.
My thoughts and prayers are with Gary’s family and friends. His spirit is irreplaceable, but will live on in the people he loved and inspired.

My deepest condolences to the entire Edulan family. I was not fortunate to get to know Gary but sister Valerie Bello and I, are dear friends and classmates from Kalanianaole School in Papaikou and Hilo High School on the Big Island of Hawaii. We still keep in touch whenever visiting my family in Pepeekeo, Hawaii. People sometimes say “It runs in the family”, and all the comments left for Gary paints a caring, friendly and much loved person that he is. Much like his Sister Valerie and surely the entire Edulan family. With heaviest of hearts, my prayers and sympathy to Gary’s family and to my dear friend and classmate Valerie Bello.

Gary: A wonderful person to have met, worked alongside and befriend.
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
